Plenty Of Time
1998, CrossCut Records CCD 11060
Following "Low Budget" and "Walk", performed
with various different formations, it was only logical to make
a record with Hank's live band, Loose Gravel. The line-up of
this group consists of Michel Poffet on double bass and Christoph
Beck on drums, percussion and backing vocals. Christian Brantschen
once again guests on keyboards. Schifer Schafer gives guest performances
in four songs and does what he did for two years on stage with
Hank Shizzoe and Loose Gravel: with his unique guitar-playing
he gives the arrangements fullness and airiness both at once.
Thomas Erb wrote 12 of the 13 songs. "Between the Lines" was
written by John Fogerty, the legendary singer, multi-instrumentalist,
and composer of "Creedence Clearwater Revival". John
Fogerty has not previously released "Between the Lines",
and kindly made it available for "Plenty of Time."

Straight outta Bern (Switzerland), baby, comes a hot roots rock
album from the nifty Hank Shizzoe and his tandem of backers Loose
Gravel. (...) This group has gained some notoriety and very positive
reviews for previous output yet remain a hidden secret - Blues
Scene Quarterly (USA)
Shizzoe sounds like the real thing, with a certain downhome low-budget
class. - Free Times (USA)
Succinct riffs and licks overlaying a laidback sound, mostly
simmering away under the surface, that harmonizes even better
with Shizzoe's lyrics of wanderlust and swamp fever than on his
debut album "Low Budget". - Rolling Stone
One the Old Continent's most talented musicians. One of the few
personalities who can stand comparison with the giants of anglo-american
music. First class. - Out Of Time (I)
