From July to September 2008 Hank Shizzoe made his acting debut on Mt. Gurten in Berne, Switzerland. He played the role of Whit in an adaption of John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice And Men”. Hank also appeared as a musician, performing solo introductions to the scenes on acoustic guitar and banjo. During the preparations for this stage play and after a long trip around California Hank also wrote several songs and instrumentals. The soundtrack and these songs are available on CD. Seven solo instrumentals as performed in the play plus the two brand new songs “Run Run Run” and “Rabbits On The Farm”, “Could Have Gone To Hollywood” with guest vocalist Claudia Bettinaglio and two orchestrated instrumentals. All the arrangements are “unplugged”, Hank played all the instruments himself, notably the enchanting Weissenborn steel guitar.
